SEC Climate Disclosure Rules
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued proposed rules that would require registrants to disclose climate-related information in their registration statements and periodic reports. The proposed rules focus on disclosure of material climate risks, management and governance of those risks, and the registrant’s greenhouse gas emissions (with some exceptions). A final rule is anticipated in 2023. In this presentation, we will cover major aspects of the proposed rule, the rule's next steps, impacts on organizations, and how to properly prepare for the rule.
